To many Golfing enthusiasts the best vacation is a Golfing vacation. It’s a great way to get a group of friends together and bond in ways only golfers know. Golf is very revealing about ones personality.

There are few poker faces on the golf course and the physical and mental demands of the game take hold of the persona and shake out that solid corporate person you left at the office. There are some wonderful northern hemisphere locations for golfing vacations: Ireland, Scotland and Florida. But for those who want to venture further a-field in off-season, consider heading south to New Zealand.

In a previous article, we went through the front nine on this course. The front nine was acceptable and ended up shooting 10 over par. Keep in mind this is the second round of the year for me. The first round was 2 weeks ago, so a little rust was getting worked out on the front nine. My stroke is starting to come together and I usually play better on the back nine than the front nine when I golf. At this point, I am looking forward to the back nine and a better nine than the front nine.

I should mention that I use discount golf clubs, but they are custom golf clubs that were built to my

specifications. I figure these clone golf clubs save me money and work just as well as higher priced name-brnd golf clubs. My driver and woods are getting a little old and I may have to start looking at some new ones. My clone golf irons are all only a year old. They are comparable in performance to the Nike Slingshot irons.

CADDIE - A person who carries the Golfer’s clubs, and, if necessary, gives him advice in regard to the game.
CUP - A small hole in the course, probably made by the stroke of some previous player.

DEAD - A ball is said to be “dead “-1st, when it falls without rolling; dead, when it lies so near the hole that the “put” is a dead certainty.
DORMY - One party is said to be “dormy” on the other when the former is as many holes a-head as there remain holes to play. (This word is fancifully derived from dorrnio, to sleep,

owing to the security enjoyed by the dormy party.)
DRAW - To drive widely to the left hand. (Synonymous with Hook and Screw.)

Golf is a supposedly elite game that is popular internationally. There are big world championships for professional golf, though most people play it at an amateur level as a hobby. Golf is a very interesting game that involves a lot of skill and adherence to many rules and regulations. The rules of golf are determined by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews (R&A), and the United States Golf Association (USGA).

The basic concept of golf is to hit a ball with a club until it reaches the cup, and use the minimum number of strokes to do it. There are different kinds of strokes or shots: tee shots, fairway shots, bunker shots and putts. There are

also approach shots: pitch, flop and chip. There is also scoring for golf. Amateur golfers are scored on the basis of their handicap. The main equipment required for golf includes: the golf ball, golf clubs, and special equipment like golf carts, bags, shoes, gloves and tees.
